Grand Prairie's Fall Runs on Three Stages, and Two of Them Share the Same Weekend

October 15, 2026

Grand Prairie's fall calendar is split by location. EpicCentral on State Highway 161 has the ticketed chef weekends and most of this year's new openings. Downtown, around City Hall on Main Street, has the free civic festivals. Asia Times Square on Pioneer Parkway marks its own milestones on its own schedule. These are three separate places with three separate calendars, and the city's fall guides list them one event at a time.

From Friday, October 23, through Sunday, October 25, two of those places host free three-day events at once. Main Street Fest opens downtown with a new stage on Main Street, and the 40th Annual HKMKT NightMKT fills Asia Times Square. If you live here, that's the weekend to plan around. The weekends on either side set it up and wind it down.

EpicCentral Has the Weekends Before It

The season's ticketed events are at EpicCentral, 2961 S. State Highway 161. The Texas Monthly BBQ Fest Homecoming took place there on September 19. Next up is the SHEF Food and Wine Festival, October 9 through 11, with times that vary by event. Visit Grand Prairie bills it as the third annual SHEF F+W Festival, curated by James Beard-nominated chef Tiffany Derry, and says it brings nationally and internationally recognized chefs and winemakers to the district.

Derry has a permanent spot at EpicCentral now too. In March, the Dallas Observer reported that her gastropub, sports bar and social lounge, The Landing, planned to open April 9 at 2951 S. State Highway 161. EpicCentral's current listing shows it open from 4 to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends. Topgolf, a short distance away at 3670 S. State Highway 161, announced in January that its fifth DFW venue would officially open Friday, January 23.

The weekend after SHEF, EpicCentral switches to a free family event. The Flight of the Monarch Festival runs Saturday, October 17, from noon to 5 p.m., with free entry and parking. The city's listing includes music, butterfly releases, dance and storytelling timed to the monarch migration. On SHEF weekend you pay for a ticket at the district. Six days later, admission is free. After the 17th, the season moves downtown.

Downtown Moved Its Main Stage to City Hall

Main Street Fest is the free weekend the rest of the fall is built around, and the city changed the layout this year. In its August 17 announcement, the City of Grand Prairie said the 2026 festival adds a new stage on Main Street in front of City Hall, an expanded festival footprint and more entertainment throughout downtown. Under the new plan, rides, including a carousel, sit closer to City Hall. The city lists two Ferris wheels, more than 75 arts-and-crafts vendors, a food court with music on City Hall Plaza, more than 12 food trucks and vendors, a KIDZONE, BMX shows and a Beer Garden at Market Square.

The hours are Friday 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday 10 a.m. to midnight and Sunday noon to 8 p.m. Entry and parking are free. Carnival ride and food prices vary, and the city hasn't posted specific ride-ticket prices.

Here's the Main Stage schedule as the festival has posted it:

Night Early sets Evening sets Headliner
Friday, Oct. 23 5:30 Run to You 7 Monica Saldivar, 8:30 All Funk Radio Show 10 p.m. The Commodores
Saturday, Oct. 24 11:30 a.m. Zac Harmon, 1 House Special, 2:30 Unfaded Brass Band, 4 Reputation: Taylor Swift 5:30 Van Gammon, 7 Los Cadetes de Lupe Tijerina, 8:30 The Lowdown Drifters 10 p.m. Sammy Kershaw
Sunday, Oct. 25 Noon Pride – In The Name Of U2, 1:30 The Greg Gordon Project 3 Raised Right Men, 4:30 Gary Hobbs 6 p.m. Keith Nieto

The Sunday time needs a check. The city's August release puts Keith Nieto at 8 p.m., while the festival's more detailed Main Stage schedule lists 6 p.m. The festival closes at 8 p.m. on Sunday, so the earlier time is more likely. Look at mainstreetfest.com again that weekend before you plan dinner around it.

Two other pages on the festival site are still from last year. The FAQ page lists a shuttle from Grand Prairie High School at 329 High School Dr., but those hours are for October 24 through 26, 2025, and the posted map also carries a 2025 label. The Community Stage page shows the same 2025 dates. Don't count on a shuttle route or second-stage lineup until the 2026 versions go up. The city does say free parking is available downtown and at city facilities, including handicap parking.

Pioneer Parkway Has Its Own Anniversary Market

While downtown runs the biggest version of Main Street Fest yet, Asia Times Square at 2625 W. Pioneer Parkway hosts the 40th Annual HKMKT NightMKT on the same three dates. Entry is free. The event marks 40 years of Hong Kong Market Place, which the page describes as a family-owned grocery serving the DFW community. Organizers call it a thank-you to shoppers, tenants, vendors and neighbors, and they're running "40 Years = 40 Specials" inside the store. Visit Grand Prairie's listing adds street food, live entertainment and daily sales, styled after Asia's night markets.

This is the second time this fall Asia Times Square has scheduled a free three-day event. In September, its Mid-Autumn Festival ran the 18th through the 20th with Asian street food, cultural performances, kids' activities and an evening lantern parade. The October market celebrates a business that has been operating for four decades, while The Landing at EpicCentral opened this spring.

As of this week, the NightMKT page hasn't posted daily hours, named food stalls or a performer schedule. Since it's billed as a night market, evenings are the safest guess, but check the event page closer to the weekend.

One Way to Fit Both Into October 23–25

Each event has a different schedule. Main Street Fest starts late morning on Saturday and ends early on Sunday. The NightMKT is a night market without posted hours. Main Street Fest's headliners play late, so here's one way to split the weekend:

  1. Friday: Main Street Fest opens at 5 p.m. The new City Hall stage starts with Run to You at 5:30 and ends with The Commodores at 10 p.m. Friday is the shortest festival day, which makes it easy to do downtown alone.
  2. Saturday daytime: Downtown opens at 10 a.m. Zac Harmon plays the Main Stage at 11:30, followed by afternoon sets from Unfaded Brass Band and the Reputation: Taylor Swift tribute. The daytime hours are a good fit for the KIDZONE and BMX shows.
  3. Saturday evening: Head to Pioneer Parkway for the NightMKT once its hours are posted. If you want Sammy Kershaw at 10 p.m. too, you'll need to head back downtown before the late set.
  4. Sunday: Main Street Fest runs noon to 8 p.m., with Gary Hobbs at 4:30 and Keith Nieto on the schedule's 6 p.m. listing. Sunday is also the last day of the NightMKT, so it's your last chance at those 40 anniversary specials inside Hong Kong Market Place.

Downtown Has the Rest of the Fall

After the 25th, most of the calendar stays near City Hall. Street 'N Treat takes over the City Hall campus on October 31, and Día de Los Muertos follows there on November 1. The city's Saturday Farmers Market at 120 W. Main Street runs April through December, with upcoming dates posted for October 10 and 17.

The last big event of the season is in south Grand Prairie. Prairie Lights at Lynn Creek Park, 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway, holds walk-through Sneak-A-Peek nights on November 21 and 22, before the drive-through season runs November 26 through December 31. Visit Grand Prairie lists 4 million lights along a 2-mile route, plus a Holiday Village with carnival rides, photos with Santa and a walk-through forest. It opens nightly at 6 p.m., and tickets are at prairielights.org.

Here's the order of the season: ticketed chef weekends at EpicCentral until mid-October, the shared weekend at City Hall and Pioneer Parkway on October 23–25, two days of downtown holidays to start November, and Lynn Creek Park lit up through New Year's Eve.

A weekend like October 23–25 is a good way to see which parts of Grand Prairie fit your daily routine.
